Long day today, almost 11 hours door to door. We finished the day at a mountaintop ski resort in Are, Sweden. In terms of kilometers, today had the most distance of any day of the rally. It was a busy day: 3 regularities with one of them having the now usual ‘sting in the tail’ of a tricky final turn that caught a lot of the competitors out, us among them. The last two regularities were better for us. There were also 3 tests, 2 at tracks and one on a hill climb. I enjoyed driving all three. In a nod to the country we are in, the code word we had to copy during one of our drives was “ABBA”.
The road quality, both paved and unpaved, has been great. The scenery is beautiful. Lots of wildflowers along the road. We finished the day at a resort high up in the mountains with spectacular views. All in all, a very good day.
